A Wild Sarape Appears

This scarfy-thing got its start before the infinity monster I made for my mother, but got put on hold so I could finish her project in time for Christmas '11. I just got mine finished two nights ago.

Unlike hers, mine is not an infinity, so I can mummify myself in it however I can get it to stay put. The whole thing is seed stitch, save for a couple of tiny spots of stockinette where I completely flaked on what I was doing. It's quadruple the length seen here, at about 3 feet wide by 8 feet long; this became a pain in the butt near the end, as I store in-progress projects like this in a hollow foot stool in my living room... and my mother's cat fell in love with it once it got so long that there was always a pile of scarf in the "box". She's lucky she's so guilt-inducingly cute when she's asleep.

I didn't intend for it to come out looking like a woven poncho, but I like it. It alternates Charisma colors Ashes and Deep Woods, which both variegate with black and brown stripes, so they still work together. At least 12 skeins here, too. I have no idea how long I was working at this one, either, but I do know it was long enough that it killed the circular needles I'd originally been using. So rude, yet so worth it. It's perfect to bundle in at my desk, which is built into a small walk-in closet that gets a might chilly in the winter.
